Be a Role Model

"A role model can teach you to love and respect yourself."
                                                    --    Tionne Watkins

Last week we mentioned that we were starting a series on 6 ways to empower women. Here at Rebuilding Respect for women we believe that you can not only empower yourself but also others around you.

The first and most important way to empower women is to be a role model to them. Be confident and show them that it is easier than they think it is to be strong and feel powerful. Woman are always in need of more role models to them the way in life. Not the kind of role model they see on television but the kind they see regularly, the kind that can inspire a positive change in them.

Becoming a role model also empowers you as an individual because you now have others looking to you for guidance. I encourage you to guide them well. Show them that with hard work, success is inevitable. You could be the woman a young girl needs in her life to empower her.

Be on the look out for the second way to empower women.
