Never Give Up!

This week my team and I would like to share what this journey has been like for us. From time to time we will engage you because we want you guys to know how things are progressing. We want you to be apart of this journey with us.

Last week we sent in an application to a highly recognized organization and we were filled with hope. We worked on that application for days. We stayed up late changing things around constantly and we were sure the response was going to be favorable... but it wasn't. It was a shock to the team.

We got over it and we're now moving forward and we will apply there again and also to other organizations because one setback is an opportunity for a great comeback. I shared this to say, whenever you set out to accomplish anything and you fail, do it again, change your approach and never give up.

Failure/ Disappointment is all a part of the game but you should never give up. When one door closes a million more open, don't be afraid to grab the handle because you don't want to be disappointed. There are infinite opportunities out there, the right one will find you.

Education and Empowerment

Thank you for joining us this week. We have been M.I.A. for a while but a lot of great things have been happening and in the weeks to come you will hear about all our goals and accomplishments. This week I would like to talk about empowerment and education. Someone once wrote, "Education is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary to participate fully in the development process."

For the women out there that were blessed enough to receive the gift of education we are charged to help uplift and educate another. It can just be by simply teaching someone how to read, how to spell their names, encouraging them to take the step towards learning. We have to empower one another. The goal is not to do it so we can brag about it... the goal is to genuinely help someone and inspire change.

Success is never reached alone. We have to come together, stop ostracizing individuals because of their educational background, accept that you're not better than them but that you can bring them along with you on this journey. If you can help someone as you pass by, help them. In order for a women to participate in the development of a society or community they have to be confident, self aware and armed with knowledge. So let us inspire and empower the women and children in and around our communities.
