The Power of Fasting!

“You should not fast just to get the anointing. That won’t be very effective. Fasting is rather a means of abasing yourselves for the service of God and man.”
                                                                                              -- Pastor Adelaja Sunday

From time to time we here at RRFW will update you on our progress. Last week, my team and I began fasting and praying. I kid you not, the moment we began things started happening... God started working. People may think it's a joke when I say this, but God is working! His response may not always be swift but he is working.

When God is at the forefront we cannot fail. I am basically testifying right here. So many door have been opened for me, for my team and for my business that it has to be God working. My assistant keeps reminding me that God is working... God is good! I am just amazed by his swiftness this time around and amazed by how is he placing the right people in my life at the right times.

I am so grateful and thankful to him. I am really passionate about what I aspire to do for my community, for my gender and just anyone else that I may indirectly inspire. I pray that God continues to use me just like he already has been. I know there is a lot more blessing coming my way.

Check back next week to for the continuation of our series 6 ways to empower women.

Build her up!

"Women build each other up, girls tear each other down--"
                                                                             Anonymous

Why is that females are so much harder on each other than males are? We are so quick to judge each other and point out every flaw we see. In this century men refer to women as thots (that hoe over there) and we pick up the slang not realizing that we are tearing each other up. Men stick together no matter what, they are always backing each other.

Women on the other hand always seem to be tearing each other down. Khloe Kardashian made a good point in her tweet the other day, let's build each other up not tear each other down. We are so quick to judge someone's situation and talk about what they should do. How about we encourage them!

In order to empower yourself and others is to be positive, encourage women, and advice them. We have to stick together as women, we don't need to be so hard on ourselves and each other. Build each other up, don't tear down.

Be a Role Model

"A role model can teach you to love and respect yourself."
                                                    --    Tionne Watkins

Last week we mentioned that we were starting a series on 6 ways to empower women. Here at Rebuilding Respect for women we believe that you can not only empower yourself but also others around you.

The first and most important way to empower women is to be a role model to them. Be confident and show them that it is easier than they think it is to be strong and feel powerful. Woman are always in need of more role models to them the way in life. Not the kind of role model they see on television but the kind they see regularly, the kind that can inspire a positive change in them.

Becoming a role model also empowers you as an individual because you now have others looking to you for guidance. I encourage you to guide them well. Show them that with hard work, success is inevitable. You could be the woman a young girl needs in her life to empower her.

Be on the look out for the second way to empower women.
